The Al Murjan Medical Business Development Manager works with the Senior Management team of the NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Global Services Department and in particular the Executive Director Business Development MENA region. This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is essential for the formulation of strategy, vision and implementation of tactics aimed primarily at meeting Company international business strategy including attracting patients from the Middle East to New York and exploring potential relationships with international organizations which could lead to hospital advisory and consulting services.
International business development at the Al Murjan Medical Company/NYP is broadly defined and includes, but is not limited to, internal and external market research activities to identify key Saudi markets, audiences and potential business partners that facilitate the realization of the Company’s global vision. A key aspect of this position is to successfully build relationships with governmental agencies that fund travel of patients abroad for health care purposes; local physicians, and other healthcare facilities (., hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers) and constituencies, such as, investment agencies, and business developers interested in healthcare investments. Is in charge of marketing activity, including both media campaigns and organization/participation to events. Identifies and appropriately cultivates potential international hospital affiliation arrangements, including assisting in the set up and/or operations of healthcare organizations with international partners who are involved in patient care, education, and research initiatives and wishing to establish relationships with NYP.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops and maintains, in collaboration with the NYP’s global service team, a Saudi Arabia business plan to evaluate the feasibility and impact of identified strategies and tactics to cultivate an increase in patient referrals from the region to NYP in New York.
2. Develops resource and deployment plans, key performance measures and targets to carry out strategy and grow the NYP’s and its affiliate’s international patient business in Saudi Arabia.
3. Implements programs through effective communication and coordination with NYP hospital executives and Global Services team, strategy, and other department heads.
4. Frames, builds and maintains alliances and close relationships with multiple constituencies and stakeholders among NYP and its affiliated medical schools to collaboratively pursue international endeavors that will grow international referrals to NYP and its Associated organizations from Saudi Arabia and may lead to other international collaborations in patient care provision, education and research.
5. Collaborates with the NYP’s Global Services Business development team to develop qualified leads into marketing opportunities for delivery of a wide range of services involving the resources of NYP, the medical schools, physicians and contract partners.
6. Develops and executes a marketing plan to enhance NYP and its affiliates reputation and global brand recognition in the Middle East.
7. Facilitates meetings and agreements between NYP and potential business associates, potential academic / facility / institutional counterparts, and appropriate governmental agencies /officials.
8. Provides cross-cultural communication support in areas of medical practice, protocol, business norms and organizational behavior.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.
