Principle Accountabilities
Ensures till accuracy and bag usage:
Receive loan daily, check its accuracy and start operating the POS
Complete customer transactions.
Scan items using the correct scanning procedures
Ensure accuracy and that the right item is being paid for.
Check fake notes and report to supervisor.
Return accurate change to customers to ensure till accuracy.
Maintain their checkout in a clean and hygienic manner.
Check the POS area cleanness, availability of bags, arrangement of merchandise on the checkout stands.
Instruct the bagger to return all chilled and frozen items to fridge immediately.
Make sure that condition of product is suitable for selling:
While scanning items ensure proper handling of products
Inform customers if you discover during scanning any items that you feel are damaged.
Follow agreed plan
Completes the purchase of the customer while offering fast and effective service to customers
Maintain friendly service to customers at all times.
Record all customer forgotten items as per policy.
Inform customers of policies regarding returns when required.
Respond to customer requests and queries.
Job Context
Operating Environment:
Retail operations job, involves operating POS equipment, standing long hours.
Shift work required, with the possibility of working longer hours if needed.
Some risk involved due to dealing with large amounts of cash.
Involves dealing with customers.
Communication and working relations:
CCO supervisor daily, to receive instructions and feedback.
Other associates in different department, frequently, to resolve pricing and scanning issues.
Decision Making Responsibility and Boundaries:
1. Repetitive; Identical situations requiring solution by simple choice of things learned.
1. Thinking within detailed rules and standard instructions and/or continuous close supervision.
