Job Purpose / Role:
Reporting to the Director of Contracting and Legal this position will be responsible for managing contracting risks associated with a variety of local and international telecom and commercial contracts both as the buyer or the seller (as the case may be). Executing contracts that accurately reflect techno, commercial, contractual and legal negotiations in accordance with ITC policies/procedures, regulatory framework and applicable laws.
Contracts Manager oversees projects from the start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within its budget. Contracts manager is sometimes in charge of a single project, or may look after several projects depending on complexity and value. He shall be the first point of contact for members of the business units, contractors, site managers and sub-contractors for as long as the contract lasts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Expertise in drafting and interpretation of contract documents enabling to settle issues, avoid disputes and ensure the effective progress of a project.
Provide on-site advice to the company's business units and project teams on contract management and policy compliance matters, contractual implications of intended courses of action.
Ensure that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
Reviews assigned contracts, keeps the management fully informed of any risk(s) and related implications applicable to each contract which has arisen or might arise which could affect the business/projects with a plan for mitigation of such risks. Alternatively obtain necessary consents to proceed.
Acts as the primary contact between the potential partners, project team and/or business unit, regulatory and legal, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.
Complete Lifecycle management of contracts from pre bidding phase to contract closure phase and maintain an audit trail of all contract negotiations, highlighted and agreed risks, and liabilities.
