Job Purpose:
The User Experience Specialist’s main role is to ensure that web sites and web applications Elm develops are usable, and reduce user errors when using them.
The User Experience Specialist does this by setting interface requirements (based on business requirements), setting a standard for interface design, testing the sites’ usability along with other responsibilities that contribute to enhancing Elm’s customers’ experience with their products, which increases customer loyalty, generates more sales and lowers support costs.
Accountabilities:
Setting interface design requirements based on business and technical requirements.
Develop wireframes, prototypes, and written user interface specifications to effectively communicate design specifications and ideas based on business and customer needs.
Develop and maintain user interface standards and style guides to ensure having a consistent user interface across all products.
Perform usability tests on products, report on their strengths and weaknesses with recommendations on how to improve.
Benchmark the usability and user experience of products to measure progress in that area.
Coordinate between business analysts, product management, marketers, designers, software developers, and our customers to insure having consistent, high-quality products.
Minimize the error rate in Elm products to lower support costs.
Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to improve and troubleshoot the design of al elm products.
Incorporate industry trends and best practices into product designs.
Influence and educate the product teams about user-centered design principles.
Survey and interview customers, and gather feedback.
