KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develop, monitor and update the Bupa Arabia Health & Safety framework, policy and procedures, implement and evaluate a health and safety action plan for the company.
• Ensure the working environment is healthy and safe for employees, workplace, visitors and contractors.
• Implement good practices that enable the promotion and development of a strong health and safety culture across Bupa Arabia.
• Provide guidance, on the development and implementation of a “best practice” governance infrastructure to enable them to achieve their operational health and safety responsibilities.
• Create Quarterly health and safety reports for BUPA Arabia & for the BUPA Group.
• Identify an appropriate schedule for periodic independent audits of health and safety across all Bupa Arabia offices.
• Facilitate the development and awareness of a community of interest of health and safety practitioners across all Bupa Arabia offices.
• Provide guidance on training, and facilitate the development of generic training modules.
• Identify external best practice around health and safety, incorporate into a best practice guide “the Bupa Arabia Health & Safety Standards” and disseminate as appropriate.
• Support health and wellbeing initiatives for all Bupa Arabia employees.
• Undertaking risk assessments and identifying potential hazards by inspecting sites, equipment and substances.
• Determining ways of reducing health and safety risks like reduce and prevent hazards, dangers and accidents.
• To coordinate at least two evacuation exercises/ fire drills per year to ensure that all staff become familiar with these procedures.
• Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary.
• To assist/support directors/managers to maintain and implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements.
• Coordinating of H&S activities with contractors, third party and employees to ensure their compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including basic safety induction training.
• To consult with management on Health and Safety issues as appropriate.
• To ensure H&S representatives are appointed for all departments.
• To conduct surveys and audits to identify and minimize the risk to company and employees.
• To ensure first aid room is always convenient and staff nurse is available at all times.
• Develop and execute activities and campaigns communicated by corporate center that are related to health and wellbeing.
• Proactively seek opportunities to advice on employees’ safety, health & wellbeing issues.
• Develop and execute end to end wellness engagement plans for employees in collaboration with Medical director and gym trainers.
• Conduct quarterly report to advise senior management on sensitive and complex challenges, status update and recommendations required.
