The World leading Vendor is in need of an Packet Core / EPC & Transport (IP) Optimization Engineer to work on a 12 month contract in Saudi Arabia.
Technical delivery of Pro-active & Reactive Audits & Optimization for Packet Core / EPC and Transport (IP) domains. (these are the specific focus domains for the individual)
The individual will be part of an e2e Optimization Team, under MS (Managed Services). The team & individual will be based in Jeddah, KSA focusing on the WEST & SOUTH regions of a top innovative operator (Mobily).
The individual will leverage various available Optimization Tools e.g.
- Reports (using PM = Performance Management statistics / counters)
- Event Logs (from Packet Core / EPC nodes)
- Probes & Packet Captures (from various PS Core & EPC interfaces)
- Active Probes / Test Protocols (e.g. TWAMP, Y.1731) for L2, L3 testing
REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience:
- Several years of experience in Packet Core & IP (Transport) network planning and performance optimization functions.
- Solid in the use of Softwares & Applications (esp. Databases), OSS / NMS Applications, Trace / Probing tools for purposes of Analyses & Troubleshooting
- Experience in Network & Service Quality measurement & reporting
- Broad-based knowledge of Protocols, Network Architectures & End User Services (especially PS Services)
- Strong understanding & ability to apply OSI Model, Use ETSI, 3GPP, OMA, IETF standards & recommendations (e.g. in an e2e implementation of Dynamic QoS Differentiation = Quality of Service)
- Specific Ericsson experience will be a benefit. Multi-vendor experience (in addition to Ericsson) will be a major plus (in these 02 domains of PS Core / EPC & IP). Following list contains the infrastructure.
