. Role
The PMO Head is responsible for improving the quality of project delivery in the group via governance and process standardization. He shall also drive the implementation of the strategic vision for the PMO and oversee the PMO process implementation and ensure that all projects comply with project management methodologies, standards and best practices.
The role of PMO head involves the transformation of the Company’s strategy into discrete programs and projects that are measureable in terms of output and deliveries.
The PMO Head shall provide leadership in best practices and shall also ensure that the operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with project leaders, project teams, technology and interface issues.
. Responsibilities:
• Identify programs and projects implied by Al Gihaz strategy execution and work with functional departments and business units to execute them.
• Monitor and report on the progress and health of the project portfolio across business units and functional departments..
• Effectively communicate portfolio and project risks and issues.
• Develop standard project management policies, procedures and templates for use across the IT organization as well as monitor compliance to the standards.
• Prepare PMO portfolio reports; develop metrics on the entire portfolio of projects including Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for presentation to Al Gihaz Management.
• Conduct periodic meetings with Program Directors and Project Managers to review project status, schedules, identify risk and help to insure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop training materials and provide training and coaching to PM’s as needed.
