• You are expected to display a high degree of alertness and accuracy in the Project Materials inventory by way of daily update and reporting of status of all major items. You shall be the sole custodian of all project materials delivered, with the support of the Storekeeper
• The projects involved include the engineering thermal desalination equipment’s and turnkey plants for sales proposals and projects execution covering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the North Africa countries
I) Internal Organization Relationships & Interfacing:
• Reporting to: PROJECT MANAGER
• Internal Interfacing :
o CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - Scheduling of material requirement and to ensure all dispensation of these materials as documented and signed-off by the Construction Manager
o PROCUREMENT MANAGER - Definition of Long Lead project materials, Short Lead project materials and common/sundry project materials
o PROCUREMENT EXPEDITOR - Coordination of timely procurement and delivery of all project materials
II) Key PRIMARY & SECONDARY Tasks/Responsibilities:
Your Primary tasks and responsibilities as Materials Controller in APS’s Projects Department will cover the following:
• Jointly prepare, maintain and update the Project Materials Schedule based on the requirement (for long lead time, short lead time and sundry/common items) together with APS Procurement Manager and Procurement Expeditor
• Update the Project Materials Schedule upon every delivery and acceptance by APS Site Quality Manager
• Update the Project Materials Schedule upon every dispensation to APS Project Team, to be signed for by the Construction Manager
• Jointly define the “Red Flag” alert deadlines with APS Procurement Manager and Procurement Expeditor
• Conduct detailed weekly stock check jointly with the Storekeeper and submit the report to the Project Manager/Construction Manager, copy to APS Procurement Manager
• Coordinate closely with Procurement Expeditor and Procurement Manager for all project items whose delivery may be delayed, thereby impacting the works on site
III) Other Required Characteristics:
• The other required characteristics expected of you are as follows:
• Result oriented and focused to meet fixed deadlines
• At least 5 years working experience as Materials Controller with proven results
• Alert personality with a sharp sense of urgency
• Unafraid to report any bad news (both caused by him and caused by others)
• Practice good teamwork
• Display a high level of integrity at all time, particularly in the handling of the information relating to the Company and project
