The Workshop manager will manage all aspects of the Fabrication Workshop and its team, ensuring that fabricated items are manufactured to the highest quality, and delivered on Site to meet installation programs and deadlines. It is expected that the workshop Manager will work closely with, and become a key member of the current Management Team. Needs to have hands on management style Must have a thorough understanding of a heavy industrial mechanical industry Must be from an engineering or trade background Background in any heavy engineering industry is a must Activities will include: Manage the day to day running of the operations ensuring efficient workflow Goods receipting and controls of store Management of staff Complying with company policy and procedures Production planning, scheduling and resorting of activities Liaising with customers and key accounts Achieve consistent high levels of customer satisfaction Recruitment and development of staff to meet operational needs Management and analysis of the running costs and expenditure budget and forecasting Adherence to Health and Safety requirements, developing, reviewing and enforcing safe work practices Maintain quality and ensure relevant documentation of is complete accurately Monitoring work to reduce costs associated with running the operations Supervising purchasing activities and remain accountable for all purchases with a focus on cost reduction
