Undertakes the responsibility of maintaining all machinery or equipment utilized in the production to ensure that plant and equipment are maintained to the required standards of quality and availability.
Plans preventive maintenance schedule and ensures all necessary maintenance is carried out within the time specified, and ensuring operating properly before launching the next batch of production.
Monitors the maintenance budget to ensure that all costs are kept within the budget that consist of maintenance, spare parts costs, and or production.
Liaises with other functions to plan maintenance such that production schedules are not hampered and downtime is minimized.
Supervises, guides or trains all technicians and cleaning units to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively and maintain effective working relationships.
Provide technical support for any purchased machine or equipment; taking into consideration full statistics for installation, machine requirements, plant layout, costs…etc.
Plans and implements renewals and modifications in buildings, equipment and machines by defining methods of work.
Monitors all maintenance work to ensure that it complies with the plant health and safety requirements.
Ensures that all instruments used in the production including maintenance-team’s instruments are duly calibrated and certified for use as per prescribed periodicity and tolerances.
Maintains accurate and up to date records of all plant and equipment in order to swiftly identify and resolve any issues relating to maintenance procedures, plant or equipment
Controls stock and maintain contact with equipment suppliers to ensure that an adequate supply of spares and consumables required exists so that maintenance cycle times are minimized.
Ensures that maintenance personnel are competent as well as trained adequately.
Collaborate in procedures improvement by reporting on performance, budgets and other reports from time to time to the Direct Manager and Manager- Production, that serve their work and enhance outputs.
Plans, supervises, controls and evaluates process maintenance activities in furnace, fiber zing, production lines, utilities and within the plant premises.
Plans and implements training programs by taking suggestions from his team and coordinating with General Manager.
Ensure inventory of spare parts, equipment and materials coordinating with purchasing department.
Drive meetings within his department and also with other departments like production and purchasing departments.
Supervises and organizes workshops, equipment and installations.
Coordinates with purchasing department to improve the quality of the materials purchased regarding specification against pricing…etc.
Develops maintenance reporting procedures.
Managerial General Responsibilities:
Ensures that subordinates have the required knowledge, skills, competencies and experience in order to reach the Department's objectives.
Contributes to the selection of personnel within the Department, and oversee the orientation and the performance for new employees.
Contribute, follow up, persuade, accomplish, and or ensure fulfillment of annual KPI's desired by the respective area and by the Department in all.
Identifies development needs within the Department and ensures that staff receives appropriate training on an ongoing basis in coordination with relevant departments.
Supervise the employees and the operations of reporting areas within the Department and monitor performance on a periodic basis.
Provide On-Job Training for subordinates by stating "Technical Know How Sheet"; doing this will benefit the following: increase the employee morale, having trained employees, emphasize on employees skills and increase their abilities for further promotion, in addition of set the respective area ready for further or unplanned Turnover.
