Description
The purpose of the Technical Project Manager is:
- To manage the development of projects from consultation and inception through Design, CAPEX, Procurement to hand-over for execution by the Site based teams.- To provide expert technical services to the Site Based Capital Project Managers and their Teams, through all phases of the Project.- To advise Senior Management on Project technical questions.
Areas of Responsibility
- Prepare and get approval for Concept Designs in accordance with the End-User requirements and available data.- Manage the development of Preliminary Designs and Scopes of Work.- Prepare Tender Documents.- Draft, review and update Engineering Standards.- Assist CPD in issuing the Tender Packages to selected Vendors, responding to queries and assessing the returns.- Review the offers received and report with recommendations.- Assist Capital Project Managers to Prepare Project Budgets and CAPEX applications.- Manage consultants and internal customers to ensure objectives are met.
Job Dimensions
- Handling of approximately 50 capital projects (10 Major, 40 Minor) simultaneously.- Work within approved annual budget.- International contracts for supply, installation, commissioning.- Internal customers are manufacturing, transport / logistics, sales & engineering.- No of total staff 5 Engineers, Designers and CAD Engineers in the Central team.- Total budget value of projects in hand: Approx SAR 3Bn.
Profile
The role of Technical Project Manager is a senior position in the organisation and therefore my client is looking for high calibre candidates. Candidates must have the following to be considered:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, (Civil, Mech, Elec, Process as appropriate).- Project Management qualification preferred- Senior Experience in Project Management of FMCG Manufacturing Projects for recognised MNCs.- Strong leadership, good listening skills.- Collaborative and direct management style.- Demanding goal-setter with good motivational and mentoring skills.- Good knowledge over full range of technologies applied in FMCG manufacture.- Good IT knowledge, skilled user of standard packages.
