CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - Must have Industrial/ Electrical Manufacturing & Distribution Company Experience - SAUDI NATIONALS ONLY
Our client is a leading Manufacturing and Distribution company with a strong reputation.
We are looking for an experienced Projects Manager to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This person will plan and manage approved expansion projects to enhance the productive capacity of the Company.
Reports to: GM Manufacturing
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitating future growth of the Company by planning and managing projects for expansion of productive capacity either through construction of new plant or re-configuration of or re-investment in existing plant from initiation through to completion/commissioning.
• Ensuring that expansion projects are delivered in line with Company plans by careful monitoring of costs against budget and the overall time schedule working closely with and overseeing the project team.
• To lead and direct the project planning process with input from Company management in the preliminary stages as necessary by preparing a project activity plan for approval setting out a budget and a proposed schedule.
• To establish a project team to assist in the planning and execution of the project by identifying and appointing external specialist advisers (. architects, mechanical & electrical engineering consultants, structural engineers) and by co-opting relevant Company managers as appropriate.
• To contribute to the detailed planning process by providing proposed machine lay-out drawings, forecasting utilities requirements, communicating as necessary with specialist consultants, manufacturers and contractors and reviewing drawings.
• To manage the execution of expansion projects by overseeing the project team in taking the projects from the early planning stages to completion, keeping management fully informed and obtaining internal approvals as necessary.
• To ensure competitive pricing and acceptable construction periods by instigating and overseeing a tender process for the construction works prior to appointing a contractor.
• To ensure the execution of the project on time and on budget (within agreed tolerances and allowances for contingencies) against an approved project plan through a combination of detailed planning, so as to minimise the need for costly changes to scope of work and specifications, and working pro-actively with the project team to anticipate or quickly identify problems and propose effective solutions.
• To manage expectations by ensuring that the overall schedule for completion is realistic at all times from the initial planning stages, through the tendering process and as the construction progresses and by regular project team meetings and regular communication of progress on schedule and cost to relevant managers.
• To track progress through regular (probably weekly) project team meetings with the contractor by ensuring that proper records are kept of proceedings and that a system of approval and recording of change orders is implemented.
• To closely monitor costs against budget by minimising changes and ensuring proper review/certification of stage payment applications prior to forwarding to Finance for payment.
• To ensure that necessary Ministry approvals for civil defence (fire), power & water connections, planning and other approvals are obtained in a timely manner working through the Human Resources Department.
• To enable operations to commence as soon as possible by facilitating smooth handover to relevant Company personnel to enable the commissioning of plant and the installation of systems by liaising with relevant Company departments (. IT, Production).
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• Salary to be used as a guide only and will reflect experience levels and interview performance
• As a guideline between 12k-19k SAR per month/ $37-60k USD per annum + 25% Housing Allowance
