Qualifications & Experience:
Must possess at least one of the following academic qualifications:
Bachelor of Education () in English.
Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English: Applied Linguistics / English Literature / Translation; with a certified TESL / TEFL credential. This credential must:
• be at least 100 contact hours in length;
• contain observed and assessed teaching practice of at least 6 hours as part of the course; and
• be accredited by a professional and recognised educational body (. Cambridge ESOL, university programme, etc).
Additionally, the teacher must have an overall band score of at least 6 or on the academic version of the IELTS exam achieved within the last two (2) years. Teachers that have earned a university degree in a native English speaking country are exempt from this requirement.
Extensive (at least 3 years full-time), recent and varied ELT experience involving work in a different teaching context, and experience of teaching adult learners, preferably at university level.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To form part of a team engaged in teaching English Language at all levels to enlisted personnel within the Royal Saudi Air Force, in accordance with the RSAF training mission.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining classroom control.
- Creating a learning environment conducive to English Language learning.
- Monitoring attendance and discipline.
- Providing professional counselling, where appropriate.
- Evaluating students' academic performance.
- Writing student reports.
- Preparing lessons according to accepted guidelines.
- Administering regular achievement tests.
- Using up-to-date teaching methodology to achieve desired EFL outcomes.
