Reporting to Materials and Production Planning Manager (M&PP), Planning Engineer will be responsible to carry out materials planning according to the master production schedule taking into account the production priorities and realistic lead times.
Persisting follow up of the supply chain status and proactively getting feedbacks will be vital while fulfilling this role.
Planning Engineer will ensure that up to date Bill of Materials are in use all the time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, work instructions and rework orders to create and update a computerized Bill of Material to support Production and ERP
• Maintains configuration control system to ensure proper control of drawings, work instructions, specifications and other technical documents
• Determines the material requirements for production and takes proactive actions by coordinating with Purchasing and import/export representative to prevent any delay that may happen in the supply chain.
• Determines necessary predictions and communicate it with production department in a time frame for preventing the delay in production
• Follows-up the issued Material Request Orders for the missing, short or rejected parts to complete the warehouse inventory
• Coordinates with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality departments to resolve material related delays and shortages
• Works with local suppliers to coordinate shipment and receipt of production parts
• Controls warehouses inventories periodically to prevent any unexpected material shortages
• Able to prepare queries from ERP or equivalent system databases
• Follows all safety rules and regulations
