Job Purpose:
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of Melt Shop and Cast Shop by handling the refractory service with minimum cost. Optimizes the use of the facilities throughout the work period ensuring continuity between shifts.
Accountabilities:
• Identify, assess and support in implementing new technologies that will increase the overall productivity and efficiency of the refractory services.
• Support Refractory management on process excellence expertise and solve process related problems within the refractory areas.
• Executes inventories and prepares orders for materials.
• Responsible for coordinating and conducting section trials. Follow up, evaluation, and reporting on trial material with coordination of process engineer.
• Follow up budgeted figures related to refractory material.
• Prepares section monthly material consumption report and suggest ways to reduce the consumption.
• Preparing and updating material standards.
