Directly reporting to the Lead Systems Manager, Sr. Utilities Telecommunications Engineer reviews utilities projects in the field of civil engineering including OSP design of copper and fiber optic facilities in aerial, underground and buried applications.
Oversee the Design of Data & Telephone Networks, Structured Cabling System (SCS), IP Telephony, Wireless Networks, Radio System, Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), PA/GA, Security Access Control System (SACS), Inside Plant Distribution System, Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Cable Structure.
You will be responsible for the design of and overseeing railway operational telecommunications projects and therefore have extensive experience in working as a Telecoms Design Engineer on similar projects. It is essential for you to have experience in design of SCADA systems that interface with Railway operational Telecommunications systems including telephony, Transmission systems, FTN/ GSMR, copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.

Cable Networks (Fiber and Copper)
Lineside Operational Communications
Radio Systems (GSMR, CSR, NRN)
Telephone Concentrators/PBX
Power and Earthing
Signaling Scheme Plans
Train describer interfaces
Box to Box Emergency alarms
SCADA
Safety Approvals and compliance
Stage working: Design/Install/Testing and Commissioning
Retails SISS systems CIS, PA, CCTV and system changes.
-Investigate field problems affecting property owners, contractors and maintenance operations due to necessary utility relocations.
-Reviews and approves plans related to the relocation of telecommunications network proposed by the Contractor
-Coordinate assigned activities with, contractors, utility companies, other government offices.
-Checks and approves plans, specifications, quantity survey, cost estimates, RFP’s and other contract modifications define and propose by the Contrator
-Checks and Approves detailed requisitions for equipment and materials define and propose by the Contractor
-Reviews Contractor drawing submittals and performs technical analyses.
-Checks and approves specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents delivered by the Contractor.
-May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
-Applies engineering knowledge to perform the checking and the approval of the design of telecommunications infrastructure delivered by the Contractor
-Creates, operates and maintains infrastructure master plan and mapping database.
-Follows up the Contractor deliveries in accordance with his own planning and reviews/approves Contractor mitigation measures for any delay on deliveries ( Design, Construction, T&C, …)
-Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
