Our client, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company is currently recruiting a Technical Lead- Water, GCC. You will be directly reporting to the Project Director GCC. This position will be based in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia
ROLE OVERVIEW
Overall responsibility for developing our technology portfolio in the region. Proving support to other opportunities around the world as necessary.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
This position combines client facing and technical responsibilities for the delivery of projects within the GCC. These projects will embrace desalination and wastewater technologies. The individual will support growth of this sector within the GCC.
The individual will work closely with our existing resources, both Water and Energy staff, in the region together with expertise based in Company’s offices around the globe.
The role will be to technically lead project teams responsible for project execution and support our client facing teams in securing new business. The role will require engagement with partners and supply chain on technical issues and building strong relationships with the Client and his advisors team responsible for the project.
Specific requirements of this position are: Sound knowledge of desalination and wastewater technology. Experience of ‘design build’/EPC delivery; prior experience of utilisation of global engineering resources would also be of benefit.
The individual will need to show leadership in building the engineering team in GCC; be able to communicate across cultures and work closely with others within the organisations matrix management structure. Bilingual desirable attribute.
SCOPE & AUTHORITIES
People
Able to work closely with our clients to understand their needs and objectives. Able to communicate technically on desalination and wastewater technologies. Manage engineering during project delivery- both remote and on project sites.
Financial
Ensure the execution of projects is carried out within budget and to schedule
Technical
Ensure quality by effective team communication and execution of QA procedures. Requires an sound knowledge of desalination technologies and understanding of wastewater technology, and project and design delivery within region
Safety
Ensure projects are inherently safe and compliant with all relevant safety standards (internal, client, statutory)
Programme
Able to manage bids/projects to schedule and provide early warning of schedule delays.
Commercial
Manage budgets.
Organisational
Highly organised individual required to collate documents, issues and concerns relating to project matters for internal /external meetings, reviews etc. Ensure that action items are completed.
Sustainability
Ensure that at all stages of project that environmental and sustainability issues are considered and that solution gives least Whole Life Cost
Other
Provide strong leadership across the region related to engineering delivery. Build the Company’s brand. Develop a team of professionals for Company’s projects.
