Diagnostic Specialist (Cat Machines)



Primary purpose of the job:

· To deliver industry-leading service support and outstanding value to our customers in the field, taking pride in making our customers more profitable and providing safe, innovative, eco-focused and cost-effective solutions in an efficient, timely and courteous manner.

Principal accountabilities:

· Carry out any jobs deemed necessary by the Field Service Manager, including preparation of Failure Analysis Report and if required rendering support to other Field Service Technicians.

· Collate and review predictive tools (Job History, SOS, Vision Link, ET Data logger etc.) to gain a holistic review of the equipment prior to inspection.

· Service & Repair machines within the workshop, depot or on site as required to ensure conformance with manufacturers’ specification including mechanical, hydraulic, electronics and electrical issues.

· Prepare a comprehensive technical report based on the technical analysis and various inputs from other predictive tools.

· Based on the technical findings, formulate a draft document for review with the Field Service Manager including; preliminary findings, estimated repair costs list of possible parts and options required to address the identified issues.

· Handover machines to customers and familiarize customers with safe machine operation in accordance with OEM and Company procedures.

· When required, visit customers’ sites with/out product support / sales team in an advisory capacity and provide guidance and advice to the customer on accurate operation, application and maintenance of their equipment.

· Train and update the skills of current field service staff by carrying out on the job training at every opportunity and recording such training after it has taken place.

· Be willing to be trained and updated with skills deemed necessary to enhance job skill requirements.



· Keep current with equipment technology advancements, and complete assigned DPC modules as instructed.

· Providing a high standard of customer care with solutions in a proactive manner (using EM Solutions tools and touch points)

· Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensuring vehicle, tools, uniform and personal protective equipment are used correctly.

· Implement or provide holistic solutions to customers (eg: CSA, Extended warranty, training, maintenance)
