Role Summary:
Overall description of the role:
The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Principal activities:
Management
• Maintain a department organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives
• Properly motivate the credit and collections staff
• Measure department performance with appropriate metrics
• Provide for ongoing training of the credit staff
• Manage relations with collection agencies
• Manage relations with credit reporting agencies
• Manage relations with credit insurance providers
• Manage relations with the sales department
A/R Administration & Collection
• Maintenance of debtor accounts
• Collection activities supporting the Salesmen and the Service Leaders, who are the owners of the SRM policy
• Tracing of old claims and advance payments
• Setting, tracing and cancelling of dunning blocks
• Credit insurance support in collaboration with A/R central function (only for entire Country with this kind of insurance contract)
• Bad debt allowances set up
• Cooperate with lawyers in case of outstanding payments and legal issues
• Manage and support Branch credit
• Support processes as defined in headquarters
• Follow- up of internal control measures.
