Summary:
Inspects machinery, equipment, and working conditions in industrial or other setting to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations by performing the following duties:
• Monitors the company's safety standards in accordance with regulations.
• Inspects machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.
• Assists with testing and servicing safety equipment and systems
• Observes workers and evaluates job activities to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, clothing, harnesses, and other equipment.
• Implements administrative or engineering controls to abate or minimize safety hazards.
• Inspects specified areas for fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
• Tests working areas for noise, toxic, and other hazards.
• Prepares report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
• Investigates causes of accidents to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program.
• Maintains programs and record keeping systems that track and evaluate personnel injuries.
• Conducts trend analysis, audits, accident investigations, and site inspections of operational procedures, facility design, equipment, and materials.
• Demonstrates use of safety equipment.
