Job Summary:
• Perform Contract Administration Activities and hold related responsibilities according to the agreed boundaries with his superior position; whether in the Division or in a specific Construction Project.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Support estimating department if needed by reviewing contract terms & conditions, and highlight important issues and recommendations.• Receive contract documents prepared by the client.• Request to issue performance bond indicating amount, effective date and expiry date.• Notify procurement and tender engineer of payment terms, advance and relations, payment of material, performance & advance bonds; variations & claims, delay fine and defect liability period.• Forward terms & conditions to legal department.• Forward the terms & conditions to legal department for their review & highlight and reservation if it exist.• Send the contract back to client if any term or condition in not acceptable for amendment.• Request from insurance (HOB) to issue C.A.R/T.P.L insurance policy. Give description of the project, specify required coverage based on contract conditions, and specify effective date and policy and expiry date.• Request to issue advance bond if allowed in the contract, specify amount, effective date and expiry date.• Performs all works of Senior Contract Administrator.• Record the contract into project contract system after completing new project definition in project management system.• Write to the client to nominate the contractor representative.• Check if recorded on natural ground levels are to be submitted before execution starts.• Check contract before agreement of price; and duties of the contractor in the connection of utilities.• Agree with consultant how the progress payment will be submitted and reviewed.• Prepare & sends the deliverable list to the concerned parties.• Send budget information to finance.• Create revenue budget according to the contract.• Generate/update payment certificate.• Administer the final account by cross checking the BOQ against the final payment request to ensure all due items are claimed.• Participate in the negotiation of final account and provide all supporting documents and price breakdown.• Ensure that contract requirements during defect liability period are provided. Check warranty terms to determine if damage repair is covered by warranty or not.• Prepare the list of variations and submit the priced variations to the Client.
