Carry out and supervise the instrumentation & maintenance activities in the plant; with the objective of increasing unit efficiency, reliability, availability, and maintainability.
Jobholder is to report to the Supervisor, Electrical / Instrument. The jobholder isresponsible for the effective instrumentation maintenance of desalination unitsin the Plant.
In addition, the incumbent mustundertake all other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, even if it isdifferent from main assigned function to him.
The jobholder’s biggest challenge isconstantly increasing desalination unit availability; reduce maintenance costswith increased efficiency; and ensuring a high level of maintenance.
Key Accountabilities
Carry and supervise implementation ofpreventive maintenance works in the plant as per manufacturers’ recommendationsto ensure unit availability and maintainability.
Plan for, prioritize, and carry outcorrective maintenance activities on field instruments, UCS, PLCs and unitcontrol systems. Determine required manpower and spare parts required for maintenance works.
Troubleshoot any failures/abnormalitiesin the unit control systems and field instruments. Perform trip or failureanalysis depending on the situation, then carryout necessary actions accordingly.
Organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of maintenance activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
Recommend improvements to departmentalprocedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of maintenance activity so that all relevant procedural /legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of maintenance activity to guarantee employee safety, legislativecompliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
