Duties and responsibilities:
•Ensure new materials and pack formats are delivered to agreed, effective performance specifications and in a timely manner
•Provide production sites with Packaging Technical Support in order to confirm and ensure that the material specifications are fit-for-purpose, both in terms of production line compatibility and trade performance
•Provide and facilitate links between Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services and Production in line with the Innovation Process
•Develop rigorous and meaningful performance specifications, supported by supplier audits, material performance audits and warehouse/trade/retail assessments and reports to confirm their success
•Ensure material standards are accurate and available to all interested parties
•Continuously investigate new ideas and material developments, with a view to improving both production line, trade and retail package performance
•To maintain and aid in the development of the departmental quality and environmental management systems and to promote quality awareness across the business
•Participate in value engineering and Cost of Goods Sold activity, identifying opportunities and facilitating implementation.
•Operate internally and externally as the acknowledged expert in the field of packaging materials and technology & Joint responsibility for facilitation of the Innovation Process.
•Ensure optimization of packaging cost and elimination of losses.
•Any other related duties and tasks put by direct manager.
