Manage web environment design, deployment, development and maintenance activities. Perform testing and quality assurance of web sites and web applications.
1. Collaborate with web developers to create and operate web site, and manage projects, such as e-marketing campaigns.
2. Install or configure web server software or hardware to ensure that directory structure is well-defined, logical, secure, and that files are named properly.
3. Identify, standardize, and communicate levels of access and security.
4. Back up or modify applications and related data to provide for disaster recovery.
5. Determine sources of web page or server problems, and take action to correct such problems.
6. Implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service.
7. Document application and web site changes or change procedures.
8. Provide training or technical assistance in web site implementation or use.
