We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for a Heavy Fuel Oil Power Plant we are commissioning in the Middle East. Candidates must have prior experience of working on fossil fuelled power plants, especially heavy fuel oil and coal.
Candidates must have extensive working knowledge of Balance of Plant systems including feedwater, condensate, air and fuel handling systems. Candidates should have previous experience commissioning a Boiler in a coal or oil fired plant and should have technical knowledge of Boiler systems such as the FGD, fuel oil firing and desulphurisation systems.
Candidates for this position must have a full understanding of the theory of operation of all building systems involved in Power Plant construction and commissioning. They must have a thorough understanding of control sequencing and how to simulate various operating conditions to prove the systems operation along with a good understanding of the building electrical distribution and the operation of such.
Candidates must have prior experience in formulating/implementation of all pre-commissioning and commissioning plans to liaising with and supervising the contractors/suppliers, workers and staff in handling all activities including procedure write-up and documentation submission.
They must be familiar with delivery of commissioning procedures, completion and commissioning check sheets, handover procedures and certification management and punch list procedures, for the Power Generation industry. They should have vast experience in the supervision and commissioning of project systems, managing compilation, sign-off and handover of certification packs to platform operations team.
They must provide the project team with an accurate assessment of the commissioning requirements and status to ensure subsequent decisions are well founded.
