1. Develop and gain approval for preventive maintenance programs consistent with guidelines.
2. Ensure optimum scheduling of assigned resources and agreement with subordinate of clear accountabilities and objectives.
3. Guide and motivate subordinate towards the achievement of their objectives.
4. Ensure the timely completion of maintenance work by effective monitoring of subordinate and prompt action to correct shortcomings.
5. Establish and maintain a sound spare parts inventory and minimum/maximum reordering system, placing potential plant -down - time against minimum inventory cost.
6. Assist in developing the written justification for necessary capital expenditure items.
7. Plan, implement and co-ordinate the timely and cost effective installation of new and modification of existing facilities.
8. Provide timely advice and help manufacturing department in breakdowns and emergencies.
9. Establish and maintain an effective Plant fire and safety program.
10. Keep Plant Manager and appropriate colleagues informed on maintenance matters and in particular, alert to any action or condition likely to cause harm to people and /or equipment.
11. Complete any assigned project from the Plant Manager by planning, getting offers, negotiating, placing order through Purchasing Department, supervising installation and testing.
12. Acting as Safety Officer, ensure fulfilling all SHE (Safety Health Environment & Quality Management) related issues.
