Ability to fusion or mechanical splice SM or MM fiber optic cables, to include terminatevarious types of fiber optic connectors (SC, LC, FC)o
Work with engineers and/or OSP Team leaders to perform fusion splicing as directed.o
Installation and testing of pressurized and non‐pressurized closures on all types andSizes of cable.o
Develop standards and specifications for splice drawings and prepare drawing per thespecifications.o
Experience and knowledge using Fiber Optic Scope and or a Fiber OTDR.o
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables (vertical/horizontal).o
Serve as a resource to the internal staff on matters concerning splicing practices andProcedures.o
Develop splicing diagrams and designs to facilitate network architecture.o
Provide management with detailed reports of field splicing activity.o
Maintain fiber asset inventory and splicing records.o
Manage multiple projects at one time.o
Organize splicing as-‐builds files utilizing software packages for in-‐house fiber cableinventory and route designs.o
Communicate with Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status in order tomeet designated goals.o
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivitywith minimal supervision.
