Our client is a leading Saudi transport company with an excellent reputation across the region. They have a specialist Coaches, Buses & Transport section providing services to leading government, private and education companies in Saudi.
We are looking for an experienced FINANCE DIRECTOR to be based at their head office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
JOB OVERVIEW
To provide leadership and direction to the unit’s Finance function
Reorganization of the Finance Function & internal control nationwide strengthening will be among the key tasks to prepare for explosive growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Key role in the formulation of strategic plans for the unit to ensure growth meets key targets
• Key role in driving cultural change throughout to execute agreed upon business strategy
• Focus will be on the various elements of costing and pricing repairs and maintenance services as well as tracking effectiveness and efficiency / productivity by any combination of: service type; location; department; outsourcer; insourcer; unit; etc.
• Will also play key role in inventory control (mostly spare parts) as well as Asset Registers (mainly buses plus tools / equipment)
• Drive the Budgeting & Balanced Scorecard processes (including development as required). Ensure that these processes are used as key tools and progress measuring barometers to support business performance.
• Timely and meaningful weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual financial reporting & financial analysis in the level of detail required by each internal and external user group
• Effective cash flow management. Focus areas will include: capital efficiency management (working capital minimization and control; capex financial control management; capital employed barometers and strategies
• As required, liaise with the internal and external stakeholders including other units’ FDs, government agencies, suppliers, insurance companies, consultants & advisors, internal auditors, external auditors, insourcers and outsourcers
• Identify financial and business risk areas. Lead actions to mitigate these risks. Focus areas will include but not be limited to:
• Developing internal control as required by the business and by other interested parties (management; government; internal & external auditors; insourcers and outsourcers)
• Developing financial & accounting approaches, policies and procedures (including: Credit; Costing / Management Acct; Transfer Pricing & management; CAPEX; Accounting; Risk Management; controls; budgeting & rolling forecasting) and ensuring their consistent effective and efficient functioning
• Ensuring appropriate depreciation and provision policies are in place and functioning effectively
• Ensuring adequate legal review policies of all contracts are in place and functioning. Ensure adequate insurance coverage Participating in negotiations and reviews of all key contracts before finalization
• Ensuring effective compliance with policies and procedures
• Managing all matters pertaining to any applicable taxation (. Zakat (capital Tax); withholding taxes; etc.)
• Supervising the accounting and finance team, ensure the team is geared towards providing the necessary support; actively mentor and develop the team members.
• Working with Group CFO and Management to prepare for next stages of expansion including down the road spin off of the Repairs and Maintenance business
