1.To provide a high quality SAFETY, HYGIENE AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CONSULTANCY SERVICE within company to ensure statutory requirements are complied with and working practices & attitudes ensure a safe working environment at all times.
2.Controls & monitors H&S, communications & reports, people & morale, delivery of results, quality of product & systems (including design & implementation). And coordinate the factory HSE activities, including implementation of systems and procedures, monitoring HSE performance and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
3.In coordination with the HR department, monitors and ensures company compliance with the Saudi Arabian labor & workmen’s law & all relevant legislation & safety policies.
4.Ensures all fire regulations are complied with & that fire and protective systems are operational & effective.
5.Promotes proactive health & safety management at all employee levels within company & aims to instill safety consciousness amongst all employees.
6.Ensures safe systems and procedures are adopted and implemented by the company including safety aspects of capital projects, plant & operating procedural modifications. Monitors internal operations & activities to ensure they conform to health and safety requirements.
7.Develops implements & maintains appropriate health & safety standards including OHSAS 18001 & the hygiene ISO manual, carrying out internal auditing of the health &
safety system to ensure standards are adhered to.
8. Identifies & carries out or arranges appropriate safety awareness activities including training, briefings & other communications to ensure all employees are aware of safety requirements and are trained to operate safely under all conditions & at all times.
9.Monitors, investigates and reports on all accidents, damage and 'near miss’ occurrences, recommending and implementing appropriate follow up & future prevention actions.
10.Monitors and reports on the progress of implementation of all safety recommendations.
11.Ensures all new employees, contractors and non-company personnel operating on the company site are aware of & observe safety requirements.
12.Provides & issues the correct personal protection equipment and uniforms for employees, contractors & visitors.
13.Coordinates & reviews the results of safety committees meetings to ensure each safety committee reports its findings & recommendations.
14.Ensures general services are provided to company plant.
15.Carries out liaison with government bodies on health & safety issues.
16.Leads, manages & develops the safety team to implement best practices for safety procedures.
17.Completes an end of shift report and carries out effective communication & handover activities in accordance with company policy.
18.Works safely at all times. Observes all quality & housekeeping policies. Keeps own work area clean & hygienic.
19.To ensure that key HSE roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, understood, and acted upon by all managers, supervisors and employees.
20.To implement and monitor the HSE program including safe work procedures and continuous improvement by implementing best practices and effective processes such as HS hazards and environmental impact analyses and audits.
21.To perform ongoing review of HSE program to ensure continued relevance.
22.To organize management HSE inspection and HSE committee meetings.
23.To analyzes and present to the management the HSE performance statistics/tends and recommendations for improvements.
24.To coordinate with contractors on waste disposal (set-up, telephone contacts, inspection of site for disposal, RC requirements check etc.).
25.To review all plant audits, accident investigations and HSE Committee minutes to ensure timely action.
26.To ensure adequate PPE provision, physical/audiometric assessments, noise testing, ergo improvements and organize regular mock fire drill.
