JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The IT Applications Director will report into the Group Head -IT, and manage the applications support staff. This person must have experience working in an automotive environment, supporting SAP & Auto line applications. In addition, the Applications Director must have a bachelor's degree, 8+ years of experience supporting SAP & Auto Line and 5 years of management experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of Information Management and Technology Application Service Level Agreements.
• Develops the procedures for and manages the escalation of service requests and problems related to applications support.
• Guarantees end users accessibility to all required application resources according to agreed upon standards.
• Ensures the efficiency, stability, security and accessibility of all supported IT applications to all supported users.
• Provide direct oversight of staff executing all aspects of application development, application management, application support (SAP & Auto Line applications development and management).
• Share knowledge and develop staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of the IT and application services industry, business issues and best practices; evaluate implications to ITS.
• Develop and communicate organizational objectives; inspire and motivate team members to achieve results.
• Build organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential.
• Work in partnership with SVP and Senior Management on strategic initiatives related to Technology.
• Responsible for developing and administering the Application Development budget and provides input into the allocation of funds for Technology Service Management.
• Oversee Application Development staff.
• Provide leadership and be a role model.
• Has proven experience and ability in vendor management to provide the best service quality at optimal cost e.g. RFP’s, bidding, contracts, relationship.
• Maintain high standard client management with senior executives with tailored communication and alignment on vision, strategy and projects..
• Have experience in managing multi-millions USD budget and able to recommend, execute, track and monitor forecast, savings and value creation to finance and leadership.
