The plant protection manager is fully responsible to implement and carry out plant protection strategies in integrated Pest and Disease Management including preventive and all control and eradication methods on our
farms. He should be able to detect, identify, control, and eradicate the mayor plant pests and diseases on our farms. In order to effectively control pest and diseases on farm he possesses experience and knowledge on usage & handling of pesticides as well as practical experience and knowledge on modern farming
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
He should write and own the company policy on disease and insect control methods and eradication
methods.
He should use Integrated Pest Management Methods to prevent and/or to eradicate pests in conventional and organic farming
He should drive actively integrated pest management on all farms and neighboring farms and coordinate Plant Protection Manager: Youssef Abdul Latif Jameel Group Plant Protection Manager, Version 1.0; 30th December 2014 F.W. 2 all actions for red weevil control.
Should be able to evaluate the status of pest & disease infection and epidemics perfectly.
Should have in-depth knowledge in identification of insect’s pests as well as fungal diseases of palms.
Must know a variety of control techniques, methods and procedures as well as lab and field analysis.
The candidate should have the ability to establish effective and harmonious work relationships with the company staff and the members.
He should know how to make field diagnoses of plant pests (insects, mites and nematodes) and diseases, conduct surveys and identify all mayor threats of our crops.
Prepare reports, maintain records and be able to prepare didactical and educational materials on methods to cope with plant pests and diseases. Monitoring or supervising laboratory research in a second
stage.
Interpreting science and be updated with newest technical and scientific achievements in his field.
