POSITION Sales Manager

REPORTING TO Director of Sales & Marketing



PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION



To maximize hotel revenue and guest satisfaction by negotiating FIT/group business and coordinating the execution of such business with other departments in accordance with the sales business plan. The job incumbent should be active, proactive, and results oriented. All work is carried out in line with the hotels Standard Operating Procedures, the Annual Business Plan and Rezidor guidelines & service concepts.



DEPARTMENTAL TASKS



MAXIMIZES HOTEL REVENUE FOR GROUPS



• Achieves budgeted goals by executing sales activities within assigned market segment of Bahrain namely business individuals, and business groups.

• Maintains and develops up to date and accurate account and account contact information within Opera Sales and Catering program.

• Gives current and new details regarding key accounts / contact for use in hotel mailing database - frequently updates dated information.

• Conduct “competitor shopping” as designated by DOSM.

• Assists in the development of the annual Key Account sales goals.

• Assists in the development of the annual contracted MICE revenue goals.

• Meets budgeted sales and profit margins for all business segments by soliciting, selling, and confirming corporate business as required.

• Working according to the policy and procedures set down for contracting FIT/ groups business.

• Develops a data file and recommends programs to best suit clients needs.

• Prepares proposals with the Director of Sales and Marketing that are geared to maximize profit whilst satisfying guest needs.

• Maximizes outside sales calls to solicit existing and new accounts from the Saudi

• Region and to generate additional room nights from local travel companies.

• Reaches assigned targets of outside sales calls as laid down by DOSM.

• Conducts on-site client inspections and entertainment as per the targets laid down by DOSM.

• Contacts in-house guests to solicit additional business, repeat bookings or referrals to other Radisson Blu hotels or Resorts.

• Coordinates with other departments in an effective and timely manner, with copies of relevant documentation to ensure 100% client satisfaction and professional delivery of promised product.

• Communicates guests’ requests and needs in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensure professional and timely follow up of pending group business to assist Revenue Manager to facilitate maximum occupancy.

• Increases sales volume and profitability by assisting in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan.

• Assist and developing special sales activities and promotions

• Attends Radisson Blu sales blitz and or trade shows to develop new business as directed by DOSM.

• Conducts market analysis to determine guests needs, occupancy potential, desired rates etc.

• Communicates all requests for special accommodations needs / suites / VIP treatment to DOSM and Front Office Manager in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensures all reservations are tracked correctly by reservations for statistical purposes for own assigned accounts.

• Follow up on commissions and other fees paid to travel agencies.

• Liaises with the Accounts Payable and clients regarding credit issues and assists where necessary and appropriate.

• Handles complaints or difficult situations effectively and proactively. Ensures all complaints are brought to the attention of the direct Supervisor for their information and action if needed.

• To adhere to strict punctuality, attendance, grooming, attitude as per hotel and department rules & regulations.

• Maintains a high level of loyalty and confidentiality and does not divulge hotel or guest information to any unauthorized person.

• Understanding and proper usage of PAMP/GOTS program.
