Warehouse supervisors are in charge of inventory in a warehouse or similar space. They lead a team of inventory or warehouse workers to receive and record new stock as it comes in, and move stock onto trucks or store shelves as needed. Warehouse supervisors interview and hire employees, create schedules, monitor stock levels at the warehouse and know when to replenish stock. They are focused on time, making sure every item of stock gets to its destination on time, and that there are no shortages on shelves. They make sure the equipment is regularly serviced and help train new employees.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the operation of all warehouse functions
• Train, assist and supervise the team in inbound/outbound activity
• Ensure that daily invoices delivered on time
• Monitor and evaluate daily employee performance to provide data support for the written/verbal performance assessments
• Determine space requirements for daily inbound and outbound volumes
• Assure loading operations are in compliance with shipping and carrier specifications
• Preventative maintenance schedules and inspections
• Plan and coordinate work schedule to accommodate times of heavy volume
• Ensure that all temp employees understand and comply with policies and expectations
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities when needed
• Generate and review operational reports
• May assist with administrative and invoicing duties when needed
• Monitor damaged materials, keep record of damaged material and report to Distribution Manager if any, and make necessary adjustment in system accordingly
• Monitor stocked items consumption levels in system, reconcile discrepancy in physical items and in system, and provide a report accordingly to the manager
• Control and monitor incoming and out-going finished goods by checking customer orders in the system and arranging for dispatches accordingly.
• Supervise receiving (or received?) and placement of finished goods in appropriate racking and quantity as per filling and transfer instruction from production; conduct random checking of racks to ensure the same and take corrective action against non-conformance.
