Role Purpose:
To lead development and implementation of Islamic financial sector projects and programs for member and non-member countries. To act as a resource person on matters related to development of Islamic finance in member countries and facilitate creating an enabling environment for the development of the global Islamic financial sector. The role involves overseeing research, providing advice and establishing regulatory environment in member countries/Islamic financial institutions for promoting Islamic Finance.

Strategic & Operational Planning
* Lead the development of country/region specific strategies, plans and operational programs for the Banks interventions in member countries for promoting Islamic finance;
* Lead the dialogue with the governments of member and non-member countries on policy and operational issues relating to Islamic finance.
* Lead the development of Financial Sector Development and Inclusion Division's work plan, strategy, budgets and KPIs.
* Lead the preparation of Technical Assistance and Capacity development projects/programs related to the IFSI in collaboration with other departments, entities and stakeholders within IDBG and external partners.
* Technically lead the policy dialogue during MCPS process, with relevant institutions and stakeholders for development of the IFSI and promotion of inter/intra-regional cooperation through reverse linkages.
Project Management
* Lead sector specific analysis on themes relevant to IFSI and monitor emerging trends for identifying opportunities for promoting IFSI sector.
* Lead discussion on complex issues to ensure overall quality and effective implementation of TA projects
* Lead, develop and build client relations at senior levels and plays a promotional role in generating new business for the Bank Group.
* Follow up and monitor the progress during implementation of the ongoing projects and make recommendations for the Management's consideration, as and when required.
* Technically lead the activities for IFSI development in coordination with the concerned departments and other entities of the IDB Group as well as other programs;
* Provide leadership to the efforts of Member Country (MC) entities and provide appropriate support towards creation of the enabling environment for IFSI and creation of the relevant legal, regulatory, supervisory & institutional frameworks.
Input to Policy Development, Analysis and Dialogue
* Conceive, develop and promote innovations in Bank policy, operational procedures, project design and organization and management of operations at country, regional or global level.
* Lead and contribute to the design and execution of major Islamic financial sector development policy.
* Provide advisory services to government officials at ministerial level and equivalent contacts in other international organizations and partner entities.
* Serve as focal point or spokesperson on Islamic financial sector development technical, policy and operational issues to clients and other external constituencies and expert groups.
Knowledge Sharing & Innovation
* Play lead role on operational matters in guiding/mentoring junior staff and is key contributor in the design of professional & operational development activities.
* Support dissemination of sector knowledge and expertise across countries and institutions.
* Lead in providing Technical Assistance for better understanding, adoption and utilization of Islamic financial services.
* Represent the Bank at relevant IFSI forums for promotion of the industry and the Group Facilitates and organizes crosscutting operational teams, international experts, etc. to debate and exchange ideas on key Islamic financial sector development issues and strategic priorities.
