ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER – HARLEY DAVIDSON CAFE

JOB SUMMARYAssists in ensuring efficient and profitable operation of the Cafe store. Leads andempowers store Baristas to ensure that the HD Cafe ‘service experience’ isconsistently provided for customers through quality store operations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but not limited to following: Key Performance Area 1: Quality OperationAssists in ensuring that the HD Cafe ‘service experience’ is consistently provided for allcustomers, and that they receive the highest quality product possible, implementingefficient, speedy customer service. Ensures all company policies, store operatingstandards and procedures are communicated effectively to Baristas and are maintainedand consistently followed for profitable operation. Ensures store appearance andequipment are maintained to the highest possible standards, and follows safety andsecurity guidelines to create and maintain the safest environment possible for BaristasDecides/Recommends: Frequency andIdentifies and acts on quality issues in relation to service, environment, staffing levels, barista competence, operatingprocedures, and recommends responses/actions to maintain thehighest possible standards in all areas.Key Performance Area 2: Financial ContributionAssists in maximising store profitability by seeking opportunities to increase sales, assisting in managing inventory and in controlling materials/staff costs. Assists inproducing daily, weekly and quarterly financial reports. Ensures all cash handling andcash register functions are performed in an accurate and consistent manner, and in fullaccordance with company procedures.Decides/Recommends: Frequency andRecommends how to manage costs within budget, identifies/suggests methods of increasing sales. Monitorscompliance with standards, decides/recommends action toKey Performance Area 3: Ordering Assists in ensuring the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies andmerchandise are ordered and stocked. Decides/Recommends: Frequency andRecommends optimum stock levels against sales, inventory costs Key Performance Area 4: Training DevelopmentAssists in training and developing Baristas to HD Cafe customer service standards, operating standards. Assists in effectively communicating new product information toDecides/Recommends: Frequency andContinuously reviews each Barista ‘s skills and decides targets for /methods to achieve improvement and maintain standards.Key Performance Area 5: Store GoalsAssists in encouraging full participation of Baristas in creating store goals andDecides/Recommends: Frequency andDecides how to share goals with Baristas, how to motivate them, ROLE REQUIREMENTSThe job contributes to HD Cafe success by leading a team of store Baristasto create and maintain the HD Cafe experience for our customers andBaristas. The store manager is required to regularly and customarilyexercises discretion in managing the overall operation of the store. Inparticular, a majority of the time is spent supervising and directing theworkforce and making staffing decisions to include but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining and scheduling, to ensure customersatisfaction and product quality, managing the stores financial performanceand managing safety and security within the store.
