Position Summary
The Mechanical Technician assumes a high-level of responsibility supporting engineering teams in their delivery of client services. The Mechanical Technician is required to be a fast learner and self-motivated, independent worker, and has the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions with progressive background in troubleshooting, technical procedures, and safety.
• Strong background in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software(s) including but not limited to SolidWorks, Pro-E, Wild Fire, and AutoCAD.
• Support DarTec engineering staff in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of all mechanical equipment.
• Work to maintain the integrity of equipment and operate them to ensure on-going safe, reliable operations. This includes such things as:
o Maintaining housekeeping standards.
o Performing basic care rounds, ensuring that all equipment is inspected as specified by the reliability-centered-maintenance requirements.
o Monitor conditions of equipment by lubrication and periodic cleaning.
o Completing maintenance care responsibilities and initiating and assisting in equipment repair and inspection as needed.
• Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement and equipment calibration.
• Address downtime issues with equipment promptly and effectively.
• Lead and/or participate with root-cause-analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for non-operating events and work to eliminate the root-cause for continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems by utilizing standardized problem solving techniques, verifying that proper investigative actions are completed so that root causes could be quickly identified.
• Maintain spare parts and stock items as needed to insure that equipment is available when required.
• Effective utilization of computer-based communication and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.
