Our client a leading Property Development and Real Estate company is seeking a Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer to be based in Riyadh.
Reporting to the President you will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and guidance, including regulatory and compliance aspects of real estate regulations, asset acquisition, property deals, service contracts to ensure that the Organisation complies with all statutory legal requirements
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Develop standardized policies and procedures for the Legal, Risk & Compliance Affairs function in line with strategic direction and overall strategies
2. Establish and implement an effective Compliance and Risk Management framework for the Company in line with market, operational, regulatory and Organisations requirements.
3. Study the impact of applicable laws / regulations on the Organisations business, highlight any legal and compliance risk, and recommend proper actions to top management.
4. Develop standard contracts applicable for all aspects of Organisations business and update general terms and conditions of the Organisations contracts and agreements.
5. Review all the Organisations contracts and agreements and participate in negotiations to ensure conformity with the policies and applicable laws and regulations.
6. Provide sound legal advice on the application of law provisions, mortgage terms, contracts, procurement, suits, grievances, claims and other commercial matters.
7. Advise on legal aspects of the Organisations financing regarding its real estate developments, assessing and advising on current and future legal aspects of financing.
8. Provides timely support to VPs, Directors and staff of other service lines to ensure adherence to Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management requirements and standards.
9. Monitors adherence of the Organisations to the company’s Legal, Compliance and control policies, procedures and guidelines.
10. Establish and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, ministries and other regulatory and legislative authorities.
11. Represent the Organisations before the Grievance Board / court or any judicial authority in law suits and claims filed against the organisation
12. Work closely with VPs and Directors to enforce Legal, Risk & Compliance policies and standards in the Company.
13. Oversee services provided by external legal service providers and third-party consultants including, but not limited to, outside attorneys, consulting firms, financers, contractors and others retained by the organisation from time to time.
14. Prepare and conduct education and ongoing training Legal, Risk & Compliance aspects to all employees on regular basis.
15. Coordinate and interact in order to guarantee the uniformity of the flow of information and legal processes.
