Loan Review Officer - Riyad Bank

Job Purpose Statement:



Deliver a professional Loan review service to the Bank in accordance with the “Charter” established by the Board and our strategy.

Establish high impact relationships with management, focusing on adding value while maintaining independence.

Ensure that all credit assets are properly registered on the books and are monitored in a professional manner.

Provide executive management with a continuing assessment of the overall quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio.

Validate the risk rating for all loans and evaluate credit-monitoring activities of relationship management.

Confirm that credit problems have been identified on a timely basis and that they are being effectively managed to maximize collections.

Provide information to assist the Head of Internal Audit in assuring the adequacy of the Bank’s loan loss reserve.

Ensure that assignments and projects are completed in accordance with the expectation of the Manager Loan Review and the needs of the stakeholder.



Principal Accountabilities:



1. Provide professional and reliable reporting to management, Credit Policy and Finance as required to assist them in effectively carrying out their risk management responsibilities.

2. Build high quality, professional relationships with management within the business.

3. Ensure loan reviews are delivered effectively, efficiently and in accordance with an agreed plan and processes that supports the delivery of a reliable opinion over the loan classification process. Reviews will be executed in a manner that meets professional standards, which will necessitate the application of sound quality control management throughout the assignments.

4. Report and escalate, as required, matters of significance related to risk management and control, ensuring that they are being satisfactorily addressed by management.

5. While providing independent assurance, perform an advisory function to the business that supports continuous improvement in the risk management and control processes.

6. Manage own learning and development, demonstrating improvements in interpersonal and managerial skills and in business awareness, and encourage colleagues to develop and to adopt similar standards through coaching and mentoring.

7. Support the application of sound performance management practices.

8. The Job holder is obliged to abide by any instructions provided by his Manager with respect to the scope of work.
