Main job responsibilities:
Directs the process of creating the project conceptual design and determining the functional and spatial requirements of new structures/buildings along with high level information related to design specifications, materials, colors for each project component.
Ensures that all design architects are using computer-aided design and drafting technology efficiently to present design ideas and ensures to coordinate project design concept among design team members (drawings, renderings and model makers).
Directs the process of working with the clients/project owners during design idea creation and during design drawings preparation and ensures to capture his/her insights, ideas, perceptions, expectations and requirements, to translate these inputs into unified state of the art design, that is considered acceptable for the client over other competitors and meets his expectations and requirements.
Directs the process of collaboration with engineers from other disciplines in all phases of planning and designing the project to prevent any structural, mechanical or electrical design issues and develop designs that is responsive to human activities and needs, structurally sound permanent and economically constructed.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform the required design tasks within the allocated time (before the deadline) with the lowest number of design errors meeting customers’ and other engineer’s requirements.
- Ensure that all design tasks are developed with the highest quality and according to the customer needs and wants.
- Manage and maintains effective relationships with all clients, engineers from other disciplines as well as any other involved parties.
- Participate in the establishment of strategies, policies and goals for the company, as well as for the Business Unit.
- Drive and develops medium and short-term plans and executive programs to manage and achieve Business Unit's goals.
- Advise top management on strategic business developments, key corporate planning issues and makes recommendations on various business decisions.
- Monitor Business Unit's performance against pre-set performance goals to ensure that progress is being made in the desirable direction and preventive/ corrective actions are taken accordingly.
- Set the estimated budget, and monitors the Business Unit's expenditures and financial performance in coordination with the CFO.
- Disseminate instructions, circulars and information in addition to issuing administrative, organizational and technical decisions necessary to fulfill endorsed plans and executive programs.
- Conduct periodic meetings with subordinates within the Business unit to ensure that priorities are clear and workflow is running smoothly.
- Review the received TOR and/or meets with the client to get his insights, ideas, perceptions, expectations as well as the project specifications and requirements.
- Manage and ensure the coordination with the client with regards to the preliminary design ideas and receives his feedback and recommendations for changes.
- Manage the preparation of preliminary sketches using various computer-assisted design and drafting software, with the assistance - if required- with the draftsmen.
- Collaborate with other Section Managers from other disciplines to discuss project requirements and prevent any structural, mechanical or electrical design issues and in order to disseminate customer requirements and expectations among them.
- Provide technical assistance and expertise related to preparation of a unified state of the art architectural design concept regarding style, proportions of plans, elevations and sections along with all required information related to design drawings, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and/or expected construction time.
