The NOC Systems Expert will be responsible for installing, configuring, integrating, and supporting Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS) within a broadband service provider environment. He will be implementing, customizing, and integrating NMS systems, primarily IBM Tivoli suite. The setup shall be monitoring and reporting on the health of a complex IT systems and network infrastructure on a daily basis as he works with internal customer to troubleshoot complex hardware, systems, software, and configuration issues. The NMS Systems Specialist needs to provide efficient and well defined reports on the infrastructure services status and health as well as their underpinning network, systems, and security devices. He will support a proactive infrastructure operations model. He shall ensure proper measures and NMS support to serve all management functions based on FCAPS/ITIL/eTOM frameworks.
The position responsibilities shall include:
• Configure, Customize, and Integrate the EMS/NMS/OSS systems mainly IBM Tivoli suite
• Customize the reporting capabilities based on clients’ requirement
• Manage and maintain the Network and Systems Monitoring Tools
• Report on the status and performance of the systems and network infrastructure
• Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults on the company systems and networks, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, handling escalation throughout to resolution).
• Proficient in Open source monitoring tools such as Cacti
• Facilities SNMP based environment monitoring (SNMP based monitoring and management of data center environment such as air-conditioning, UPS, generators, power distribution)
• Maintenance technical documentation (for NOC) of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations
• Backup management (HP data protector)
• Prepare and generate efficient reports on Infrastructure and applications health and performance
• Participate in a 24x7 call-out shifts if required
